Manual Pipe Jacking – Mining Method
Pipe jacking using the manual mining method allows trenchless tunneling independently of surface traffic. Soil and rock are loosened using hand tools, hydraulic wedges, or explosives if necessary. Spoil is manually loaded for horizontal transport inside the bore.
The starting shaft dimensions are determined by the design, based on the diameter of the jacked pipe and the type of jacking station.

Pipe jacking process includes:
- Loosening of the soil
- Loading the loosened soil onto a cart
- Horizontal and vertical transport of spoil
- Jacking the pipe casing
- Welding on the next pipe after the previous one is jacked
- If necessary, injecting grout behind the casing
